Auld lang syne

It's almost the end of the year (or it was when I wrote this)... our consciousness of our meaningless calendar is heightened, which brings thoughts to the deeper significance of our presence in time. Auld lang syne is a Scottish song which means something along the lines of "days gone by." It's always made me a little sad and a little excited... the twinge of melancholy most obviously presents as thoughts of the people that I miss around this time of year. Nan, and Owen, I suppose, and Bryan, Len and Justin... also David from Sunrise. However, I am excited for the future simultaneously, and this presents as a very strong and very strange emotion that my wacky little brain likes to call "happysad." Anyway, back to singing, it's good stuff man. Sometimes I want to go back to Montana.

Is there anyone who isn't trapped?

More and more i feel as if i am going to be trapped by my job. My career! Ha. Driven people go to graduate school.

Also, Dave Grohl is a genius. I have loved him since i was 13 and listened to nirvana. He has grown (yay) and remains amazing (only now he's showing it more)

Does she like anything? I dunno. She's kind of a martyr.

eraserhead... i like every character in that movie (except the mom, especially liked the catatonic old lady in the kitchen). it's a breath of fresh air, too... i haven't seen a movie i enjoyed in a LONG time.
